Christies, Newman Street. April 2012

We were approached to undertake a project on behalf of Christies, which involved the relocation of 134 staff members into new offices. As an existing Excel Cat5e system was already in place, we were instructed to relocate existing services to new desk locations as per the site drawings. With a new communications room being purposely built on the second floor and all existing services being housed on the fourth floor, our engineers had to remove these installed lines and reposition to the new comms room. A new 47U cabinet was ordered to house the new cabling infrastructure, as well as hardware. New wireless access points were installed into the ceiling void to provide Wifi on site for staff and visitors alike. A total of 552 lines were installed on this project from the comms cabinet to sited floor boxes. These lines were then tested with our Fluke DTX 1800's to industry standards. With the new desks installed the Pod boxes were then patched through and again the system retested to ensure that there were no issues with the supplied desk services. These Pod boxes were also labelled to indicate which floor box port they were patched to. Upon completion full drawings were issued to the customer showing WAP locations, floor box locations and also wall points. Whilst on site our team of engineers also installed the security cabling ready for connection by the Christies Security Department. This project was completed to budget within the three week allocated time scale.
